My name is Matt and together with the incredible work of Rei Chan, an indonesian philanthrospist and humanitarian we are raising money to buy life supporting food and basic neccessities for this incredibly beautiful and humble family in Gaza struggling to stay alive.
This is his story…..
I am Ibrahim Khaled Mohammed Adeb Lail, born in Rafah city. We are still alive. Just!
I am 21 years old. Before this horrific genocide I lived a normal fife with great care and respect. I studied and attened Al Aqsa University every day. My biggest ambition was to finish my studies at the university and get a job to help my father purchase daily needs for our family. Once the Israeli genocide started hell rained down on us and it hasn’t stopped. All resorces have been lost and our house was completely destroyed by bombs. Everything my father and mother worked for is gone!
From Rafah city we fled to Khan younis near the coast with hundreds of thousands of others, cramed into a small space of land, one of the only places designated as “safe” by Israel where seawater often enters our tent. It’s far from safe like all areas of Gaza and a bomb could land on us any moment.
On top of this horrific daily thought in our mind that we could be blown apart any second, a storm ripped through our tent that was made of pieced together bits of fabiric and completely distroyed it so my family of 10 are now huddled in a kind families tent adding to their challenges, until we can gather money to buy a new tent.
Famine has struck Gaza due to the Israeli blockade on humanitarian aid, and now over one month since the blockaid it’s almost imposible to find food, water and medical supplies. As a result prices for every item left in Gaza are extreamely high becuase there’s simply nothing left. If your’e lucky you might be able to buy someting at a high price off someone desperate to sell it to buy they own supplies.
My mother is elderly and suffers from several chronic illnesses and my young brother has heart desease and needs weekly treatment. I also suffer from a kidney disease and urinary tract infection that also demands medication. Its rarely available so we suffer in pain daily.
The genocide is increasingly challenging and we are desperate. Desperate to gather money for food and medication, desperate to get enough money to buy a new tent if we can find one and desperate to stay alive.
Every day is a challenge beyond anything expected of any human.
We pray that some kind humans out there will help us. Anything big or small will be like a gift from god. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for taking time to read my story, and I pray we will make it through this hell and be able to say you helped save me and my family.
